4-Iodopyridine-2-carboxylic acid is a synthetic organic compound that has an inhibitory effect on the catalytic activity of chloride. 4-Iodopyridine-2-carboxylic acid is used in the preparation of complex molecules and as a catalyst for the synthesis of imidazopyridines, betaines, sulfoxides, thionyls, and aldehydes. It is also used as a stimulator in the picolinic reaction and can be converted to picolinic acid or picolinic acid.
